Current work programme
At DIN, standardization in the field of nanotechnologies is the task of a committee in Technical Section 8 of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP). The “Nanotechnologies” committee (NA 062-08-17 AA) coordinates German participation in relevant standardization activities at European level in CEN (Technical Committee 352) and at international level in ISO (Technical Committee 229). Over 40 experts from industry, research and public authorities are actively involved. The current projects ISO IEC/TS 80004-5 “Nanotechnologies - Terminology and definitions - Part 5: Nanostructured materials” und ISO 12025 “Nanomaterials - General framework for determining nanoparticle content in nanomaterials by generation of aerosols” are the result of German proposals and the work is progressing under German project management.
